School note April 26th

26-4-2012

Dear Parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Tomorrow, the children in Fifth and Sixth Classes will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in St. Joseph's Church, Ballybrown at 12 noon. Fr. Crawford will perform the ceremony. I would like to thank the teachers involved for all the work that has gone into preparations for the day.  Mrs. Mulroe, Mr. Lordan  and Mrs Dillon have worked extremely hard to ensure that every detail has been covered as has Rosemarie who was involved in compiling the booklet. Thanks also to Fr. O Connor and Pat Gallagher for their co-operation at all times.

Willie Ryan and Pat Gallagher from the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association have also visited the school to link up with the Confirmation classes andI thank them for their interest. The Parents Association will be providing light refreshments in the school directly after the Confirmation ceremony and, as ever, their efforts are appreciated. Finally, great credit is due to the children themselves who have put their hearts and souls into every aspect of the Confirmation experience including Art, Music and the many other elements involved. I am sure they will have a memorable day.

MPCC Credit Union will not be in the school tomorrow but will return the following week.

On the sports fields, Ballybrown NS enjoyed victories in hurling and camogie v Scoil Ide and Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoighe. Lisnagry N.S., trained by Tipperary hurler Shane Mc Grath, visited us yesterday for a mini blitz for Second and Third classes.

Wassa Wassa African Drumming workshop will visit the school again next Tuesday May 1st. This has proved to be a great success in the past. $2 per child please.

Gach dea-ghuí,
