School note May 25th

25-5-2017.

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Ballybrown NS  under 13 camogie team will attempt to retain the Limerick City Cumann na mBunscol title in the Gaelic Grounds at 10.45 a.m. next Monday v  Milford NS.  The boys Under 13 hurling team will attempt to win the Olo Cup for the first time since 2014 when they meet Kildimo NS at 12.20 p.m. on the same day.  Thanks to all the team trainers who put so much time and effort into coaching our school teams.

All classes will be on school tour on Thursday June 22nd.  All teachers will be on tour that day also so the school will be closed.  If possible, all tour monies should be in by Wednesday May 31st as the school has to confirm numbers with bus companies and the various venues that classes will visit.

School Sports Day is the following day Friday June 23rd, weather permitting.

On Monday last, we were fortunate that three musicians visited the school to perform traditional music for all classes during the course of the day.  Many children involved with the local Comhaltas group joined Cian, Dale and Aisling in providing wonderful entertainment.  Thanks to Cora Harty for arranging this visit.

As we approach the end of another school year, please ensure that you inform the school of the reason for any absences.  Notes were provided for this purpose at the beginning of the school year.  The school has a statutory obligation to make a report to Túsla in the case of every child who is absent for twenty days or more in any school year.  It is vital that you furnish the school with a reason for any absences.

           Parents Association News:

Colours Day (Purple) - This was a huge success with €600.80 collected on the day. Thank you to all who wore purple on the day in memory of our dear friend and fellow parent Margaret. We appreciate all your support for such a worthy cause - €300 will be donated to Milford with the balance for the Parents Association fund supporting school items.

First Communion: Just to say a word of thanks to the 1st class parents who volunteered for the teas/coffees in the community centre after the Communion Mass.
