School note April 4th

Dear parents,

We have reached the penultimate week of this school term. School will close for Easter on Friday April 12th at 12.30 p.m. Children in Junior and Senior Infant classes may be collected at 12.10 p.m. on that day to ease traffic congestion. School will reopen on Monday April 29th at 9.15 a.m.

Reminder: Children are supervised from 9 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. each morning. Parents are requested not to bring children to school prior to 9 a.m. as the school will not be responsible for them. As all children assemble in the same yard, children line up in readiness for school. This is not playtime.

MPCC Credit Union: Credit Union will visit school tomorrow morning Friday April 5th.

School teams: Ballybrown NS under 13 hurling team lost to Patrickswell NS in the Olo Cup on Tuesday. Our under 13 camogie team defeated An Mhodh Scoil yesterday. Well done to both teams and their coaches. Under 13 hurling training today straight after school.

Spelling Bee: Neal Buckley represented Ballybrown NS in the Limerick final of the Eason's Spelling Bee competition. Neal did us proud as he finished in third place.

Parents Association News: Thanks to all parents who contributed to the recent clothing recycling day, which raised over €1000.  The Parents Association have donated €300 to St Gabriel's Respite Centre which is located in Mungret. There is a shortfall to open the centre.  https://www.stgabriels.ie/respite_house/ All remaining funds will go to a range of learning activities in St Josephs NS.

The recent Colours Day in association with the Special Olympics raised €550. The Parents Association have decided to offer the Special Olympics 50% of monies raised. Again thanks to all families that contributed on the day.
