Letter May 17th

17-5-2012.

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

First Holy Communion will take place in St Joseph’s Church next Saturday May 19th. at 11 a.m. Final preparations are under way. It is important that all choir members attend.  School will end for Second class pupils at 12.30 p.m. tomorrow. We wish Fr O Connor a speedy recovery from his recent illness.

Tomorrow, Friday, is Jersey Day. To mark the beginning of the Munster Senior Championships this weekend, we ask all pupils to wear a jersey to school, (Preferably GAA or  a green garment). There is no money involved! Details on http://munster.gaa.ie/2012/05/16/munster-gaa-jersey-day-may-18th/

All classes will go on School Tour next Thursday May 24th. Details overleaf.  All monies to be paid to your child’s teacher by tomorrow morning, please.

On Tuesday June 12th, the school’s Parents Association has organised a speaker, Ms Ann O Sullivan, to speak to parents on Transition from Primary to Secondary School. This will be of special interest to parents of pupils in 5th. and 6th. classes.

Topics will include choosing a post primary school, what to expect in post primary etc. This seems like a very relevant topic and I commend the Parents Association for this initiative. Further details nearer the event.

Best wishes go to our Under 13 hurling & camogie teams who have reached the semi-finals of the Cumann na mBunscol competitions which will be played next Monday and Friday respectively. I wish Mairead Hannon a speedy recovery from her injury.

Please remember that normal school activity will go on right up to end of term on June 29th. Any easing- off in Homework, Healthy Eating, correct uniform and neat appearance will be dealt with promptly.

Gach  dea-ghuí
