School note October 11th 2012

11-10-2012

Dear parents,

A meeting for parents of children receiving First Holy Communion in 2013 will take place in the school Hall tonight at 8 p.m. It is very important that all families are represented.

Children in Second Class travelled to Curraghchase today to mark National Tree Day, 'Lá na gCrann'. On Monday, the pupils of Fifth and Sixth Classes were guests at Limerick Racecourse where they met jockey Andrew Mc Namara and trainer Michael Hourigan and learned about life in the horseracing industry.

Thank you to all the parents who park in the Church Car Park while building is going on beside the school. Your co- operation is greatly appreciated. A number of parents are parking in the yellow box directly in front of the school gate and in the Disabled area. Please leave these areas free at all times.

A Rag and Phone Day will take place on Friday October 26th. (the last day before Mid-term break) . A note from the Parents Association will issue nearer to the date.    There will be a Colours Day on Friday October 19th . All proceeds to the Parents Association.

Thank you to the Parents Association who this week presented a cheque for €500 to the school to go to the purchase of materials needed   for Literacy and Numeracy initiatives.

Well done to our school Under 13 football team who defeated Patrickswell NS to qualify for the semi-final of the Cumann na mBunscol competition. Best wishes to the Ballybrown minor football  and intermediate  camogie teams who play in  County Finals on Saturday.

A Halloween party for primary school children, which will include many games and prizes, will take place in Ballybrown GAA clubhouse on Halloween night, Wednesday 31st October from 8pm-10pm. Tickets will go on sale next Friday 19th October in the school.  Price:€5 each (adults and preschoolers free).
