School note October 18th

18-10-2012

Dear Parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Parking is limited at the moment while construction is ongoing next to the school. It is a big help that so many parents park in the Church grounds. Please remind all children that, in the event of a child not being collected, they should return to the school and inform a teacher who will contact parents or minders. Parents can be delayed for any reason, usually traffic, road works etc.

This is Maths Week and classes are involved in a range of activities, including Maths trails, Problem of the Day etc. The Problem of the Day is on the website www.ballybrownns.ie

There will be a 'Green and White' day tomorrow, Friday October19th to show support for Ballybrown hurlers who are in the Intermediate County Final on Saturday. All proceeds to the Parents Association. €1 per child if possible.

Well done to Ella Shanahan and Mark Mullally who were prizewinners

in the Young Poet of the Year competition run as part of Cuisle Poetry festival. The prizes were presented at a ceremony in the Daghda Dance Space in St. John's Square last Saturday morning. The event attracted entries from all over Ireland.

The Parents Association will be holding the annual 'Rag and Phone' collection at the school on Friday 26th. October.    All old clothes, shoes, bed linen are accepted. Bags were issued today.  Any old mobile phones will also be accepted.

Please note that tickets for the Halloween Party on Oct.31st from 8-10pm, being run by the Community Games Committee, will go on sale tomorrow Friday Oct.19th in the school hall at 9.15a.m.,at a cost of €5.

Please check the school website for up to date information on any topic relating to school life.
