School note April 25th 2013

25-4-2013.

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Today, the Green Schools Committee organised a Spring Clean Day. All classes in the school cleaned their room and the Committee also organised a clean-up in the school grounds.

Yesterday was Low Energy Day when a special effort was made to cut down on electricity wastage. In total, the electricity consumption for the day was 41 units. The lowest recorded total in the last year was 62 units. Well done to all involved.

It has been a busy week on the sporting front. Ms Mulroe entered a team of Fourth Class girls in the Girls football blitz in Mary Immaculate College on Tuesday. It was a most enjoyable day, with the added bonus that the Ballybrown girls won all four matches they played. Our Under 13 hurlers defeated St Paul’s in the Olo Cup on Tuesday while our Under 13 camogie team play  Caherdavin girls today.

School tours for all classes take place on Thursday May 30th. All details are on the school website. It is possible to pay anytime over the next five weeks. Please put the money in an envelope with your child’s name on it for the attention of your child’s teacher.

Cora Harty has asked me to remind any parents interested in traditional music lessons for children by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann to return the forms by tomorrow, Friday.

Thank you to all the parents who return Absence Notes to the school when your child is unable to attend at school. As Principal, I am required to make annual returns to the National Education Welfare Board, detailing absences in excess of 20 days and reasons for these absences. I appreciate your continued co operation.

Gach dea-ghui
