School note June 20th. 2013

20-6-2013.

Dear parents,

Tomorrow, the school will celebrate the awarding of our second Green Flag. This is a great achievement. The school will mark the occasion with a short ceremony at 12.45 p.m. Congratulations to all involved.

Yesterday, we held our annual Sports Fun Day. The sun shone and the mood was sunny too. Thanks to all the school staff who organised the day's activities so efficiently. A boy in Junior Infants described the day to me as 'awesome!' and I think that says it all. Well done to everybody.

All families have by now received end of year reports and Book Lists for next year. It should be possible to buy secondhand books in many instances. Please ensure that they are all in good condition with all pages intact.

Do you need to declutter? In September, the school will have two Junior infants classes. Mrs Fitzgerald would appreciate if you could provide any of the following: jigsaws, cars, trucks, dolls, clothes for dressing up, toys for imaginative play e.g. Post Office, garage, etc.

A note from the Parents Association: The Graduation of 6th class is being held on Wednesday 26th June at 1.30pm in the school.  We are looking for any parents who may be available that day to help serve teas and coffees to parents and guests.  Please could you contact Cora Harty on 087 418 5586 if you are free. Thank you in advance.

If your child is interested in starting music, Comhaltas information evening takes place on Monday next 24th at 7.30pm in the Community centre. All are welcome, lessons are available for both adults and children.

School will close next Friday June 28th. at 12.30 p.m. for all pupils
