School note April 4th. 2014

Dear parents,

                     Yesterday was a significant day in the school calendar as 71 boys and girls received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Leahy in St. Joseph’s Church. Preparations have been in full swing for many weeks. Events such as Confirmation are a team effort and  I am extremely grateful to all the class teachers involved, Mr. Lordan, Mr Hodnett and Mrs Mulroe as well as Mr. Curtin who has left the school recently. Ms. Day has done superb work with the Choir and all the children have been wonderful. Thanks to the school’s Parents Association who provided refreshments. Well done to all concerned.

                 This week the City Cumann na mBunscol leagues began and Ballybrown NS got off to a winning start in both hurling and camogie.

Please note that school will close for Easter on Friday April 11^th. at 12.30 p.m. and reopen on Monday April 28^th

School will be closed on Friday May 23^rd as the school is used as a polling station for the local elections.

Ballybrown GAA Juvenile Club Easter Hurling Camp:  23^rd, 24^th & 25^th April 2014 from 10:30am to 13:30pm (5yrs to 13yrs only)

€30 x 1 Child / €50 x 2 Children / An additional €10 per child thereafter. Contact :  Secretary on 089-4975640

(Booking recommended by 12^th April to ensure that each child will receive the correct camp T-shirt size).

BALLYBROWN/CLARINA COMMUNITY GAMES: We would like to say well done to all that competed in the Limerick Community Games Talent Competitions recently. Well done to Aoife O’Connor in 5^th Class who will go onto represent Ballybrown in the All Ireland Finals later in the summer.

Community Games Rounders/Throwball:Training for Rounders and Throwball (like rounders) will take place on Saturdays in the school field at 5:30pm and also in Breska Rovers after school on Mondays. All are welcome
