School note October 16th 2014

Dear parents,

                   This week is Maths Week. A wide range of activities is going on in the school. Please check the website for the Problem of the Day.

                    The school's Under 13 football teams have reached the semi final of the City Cumann na mBunscol leagues. The boys play Kildimo NS today while the girls under 13 team play St Paul's tomorrow. Both matches in UL.

                   Both 2nd class and 5th class will be holding a cake sale on Thursday 23rd.  October to raise funds for  Oranjekloof Primary School in Hout Bay, South Africa. All proceeds will go directly to the school. All donations of cakes and buns welcome. There will also be a stationery drop off point in the Halla on the day to deposit any kind of school- related stationery, e.g copies, pencils. Please support us.

                 The Halloween Fancy Dress and Disco will take place in school on Friday 24th. Home-made, original costumes please.

               All families received Code of Conduct notes recently. Please read these with your children and sign the last page before returning the signed page to the school.

               Fr. Cussen has reminded me that the Do This in Memory Mass for children in Second Class will be celebrated on Sunday October 19th at 10.00am.  First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday May 16th at 11 a.m.              

                 Parents Association: There is a Recycling day planned for tomorrow Friday 17th.  October 2014.  Please have your bags of unwanted clothes, handbags, paired shoes etc in bags at the school by 9.15am that morning.  No phones or duvets, please. Please leave bags by the main gate on Friday morning.  All items will be collected by 9.15 a.m. The Parents Association would really appreciate some volunteers to help with the bags from 8.45 a.m. Please contact Breda Mc Carthy on 087 7988475 if you can spare thirty minutes in a very worthwhile cause. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Ballybrown/Clarina Community Games have started back at DRAUGHTS every Wednesday evening starting at 7pm in the Resource Centre, there is a small charge of €1 per child. It is open to all boys and girls and we hope to have teams in U10's, U12's & U14's. Training will be provided. The kids love it so bring them along.

              Ballybrown GAA: The Parish League takes place on Saturday October 18th. starting with the O Grady Cup (Under 12) at 1 p.m. Under 6 match at 2 p.m. At 2.45 p.m. Under 8 and Under 10 matches.
