School note October 22nd 2015


Dear parents,

                      School will close at 3 p. m. tomorrow Friday  October 23rd. for midterm and reopen on Monday November 2nd.

                      Our Under 13 boys football team contest the final of the City Cumann na mBunscol competitions in the Gaelic Grounds today . Our opponents are Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoighe. Thanks to all teachers involved in games in the school for their time, dedication and expertise.

                 Tomorrow, Friday is our Halloween Fun Day. In keeping with our Healthy Eating policy, children may bring one treat to eat. Sixth Class pupils have been busy decorating the Halla.

                 The AGM of the school's Parents' Association took place in the school on Tuesday night.  The Association has decided to contribute €1000 to purchase educational equipment and to help defray the cost of buses to upcoming events.

                 Congratulations to Christopher Kelly, a former pupil of this school. Christopher, founder of Talamh, a provider of tech solutions to the agriculture sector, was  named winner of the 'Best Start-Up Business' category of the competition to find Limerick's Best Young Entrepreneur , which was organised by the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick. Christopher is also a winner of the Paul Whelan INTEL Scholarship for 2015

Ballybrown/Clarina Community Games will be starting back at DRAUGHTS after the Mid Term Break. It is open to all boys and girls and we hope to have teams in U10's, U12's, U14's & U16's.

Start Date – Wednesday 4th November in the Resource Centre, from 7pm to 7.45pm in the Resource Centre, there is a small charge of €1 per child.If you have any queries please contact Pauline Lowe on 087 8365545
