Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

The school was visited by two inspectors from the DES this week to carry out a Whole School Evaluation of Management, Leadership and Learning. The process began at 9 a.m. on Monday and finished at 5.30 p.m. yesterday. The inspectors visited all classrooms and Special Education settings and studied documents relating to curricular and organisational policies and long and short-term planning. They also inspected data relating to Standardised tests, Literacy and Numeracy, School Self Evaluation and School Improvement plans. The inspectors met with the Chairman of the Board of Management on Monday and officers of the Parents Association on Tuesday. They met with the Special Education team on Tuesday and the In-school Management team on Wednesday. They met with the Principal from 3.30 to 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday. They were very positive in all their comments. They will return to the school for a post-Evaluation meeting in December.

Board of Management: A meeting took place on Tuesday night to elect parent nominees to the Board of Management. John Collins and Catherine Smith were elected to serve on the new Board which takes up duties on December 1st for a four-year term.
