School note April 28th

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

On Tuesday, all classes from Third to Sixth took part in workshops provided by Maths Lab, who travelled from Cork. The children moved from station to station to pit their wits at a range of activities. As part of our ongoing Numeracy strategy, it was a most worthwhile and enjoyable event.

Also on the topic of Numeracy, Numero leagues have been running this week in classes from Second to Sixth inclusive.

Congratulations to the school's camogie team, winners of the County title in the INTO Mini Sevens in UL yesterday. Having overcome South champions Bruree NS ands West champions Gaelscoil Ó Dóghair from Newcastle West, the outcome rested on the final game with Doon Girls N.S. Playing into the teeth of a gale in the second half, Ballybrown NS emerged as winners by 2-1 to 1-0. Well done to captain Alex Connole  and her team. Special thanks to Ms Hayes and Ms Keyes whose work on the training pitch was rewarded.

School transport: Tomorrow, Friday April 29th., is the closing date for applications for school transport for school year 2016-2017.   Applications may be made online at www.buseireann.ie.
