School note May 12th

Due to problems with our internet provider, many parents did not receive the school newsletter yesterday. Please see below.

Dear parents,

It has been another busy week here in Ballybrown NS.

Preparations are almost complete for First Holy Communion which takes place on Saturday in Ballybrown Church at 11 a.m..  The Art work on display is a credit to all the boys and girls who have worked so hard for this special day.

On Tuesday, Mr Lordan's class had a visit from two members of Co. Limerick Fire Service who spoke to the children about Fire Prevention. It was a most worthwhile visit.

Yesterday, Ms Mairead Kelly of the Health Promotion Unit of HSE visited the school. Today, our Health Promoting Schools Committee, consisting of children  and parents, will meet to discuss upcoming activities.

On Monday, the school was presented with a set of jerseys for our Under 13 camogie team by BB's Muffins, Crescent Shopping Centre, Limerick. Our thanks to Sinéad Lynch and Cian Murphy of BB's Muffins for this generous gesture.

Tomorrow,  Friday May 13th, the team will get an opportunity to sport the new jerseys in  the Under 13 camogie semi final v Monaleen NS at Old Christians GAA club. All support appreciated as the team and teachers have worked hard all season.

On Tuesday, May 17th, Ballybrown NS meet our neighbours from St Nessan's NS, Mungret. Throw in is at noon in Old Christians.

On Wednesday, May 18th, 50 children from Ballybrown NS will take part in Limerick City Sports in UL.

Reminder:   School will be closed on Thursday May 26th as the teachers will be attending Inservice for the new Primary Language Curriculum.

All classes will be on school tour on Thursday June 16th. All details are on the school website www.ballybrownns.ie.
