School note September 22nd

22-9-2016
Dear parents,
It has come to my attention that a number of children are dropped at school at an early hour. I wish to remind parents that the school cannot accept responsibility for children who are at school before 9 a.m.  The school provides morning supervision for 15 minutes from 9 a.m. daily to facilitate parents. It is not a playtime. It is assembly time. A number of parents are staying at school from 9 to 9.15 a.m. to watch their children play. Children are supervised in the Junior yard by Mrs Hodgins and the senior yard  by myself. There is no need for parents to stay as space in the playground is extremely limited.  I would appreciate your co operation in this matter.
Closing date for Allianz Pupil Personal Insurance is  tomorrow Friday Sept. 23rd.  This insurance is entirely optional.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the families for their Art & Craft/Photocopying contributions. If you have not yet paid this money, you can give it to Rosemarie in the school office any day between 9a.m. and 2p.m. €35 per child or €60 per family.
MPCC Credit Union return to the school tomorrow morning. This is a great service which teaches children the value of saving.
Enrolment: If you have a child due to start school in September 2017, please ensure that the school has your child's details. If not, please contact the school office. There is a limited number of places available in the school  for the current school year. Enrolment will close on September 30th.
Our boys and girls under 13 football teams have played two games so far. This week, the boys team defeated Christ the King BNS while the girls lost narrowly to St Nessan's. Thanks to Mr Lordan, Mr Sheehy, Ms Gibbons & Ms O Shaughnessy who give so generously of their time and expertise.
Fifth and Sixth classes enjoyed their first lessons with Whizzkids last Friday.
Third class had their first cycling classes with John Clancy last week. Yesterday's lessons had to be cancelled due to rain.
Dates for your diary: Fr Cussen has informed me that First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday May 13th. 2017 at 11 a.m.
Parents Association AGM will be held on Wednesday October 12th at 8 p.m.
There is a Recycling day planned for Friday October 14th.  Please have your bags of unwanted clothes, handbags, paired shoes etc in bags at the school by 9.15am that morning.
Cross- country Sports: The Limerick county cross country championships will be held in Limerick Racecourse on Wednesday November 9th.
The closing date for application for a place in secondary school is Monday January 16th. 2017.
