School note October 24th

Dear parents,

                        The Halloween Fancy Dress which takes place tomorrow is one of the most keenly anticipated dates in the school calendar. Children may wear a costume with a Halloween theme. Fifth and Sixth classes are coordinating the Disco. Thanks to Mrs and Mr Barry for coordinating this.

                  Our girls and boys football teams have reached the final of the Limerick City Cumann na mBunscol competition in the Gaelic Grounds. The girls final is on Wednesday November 6th at 11.45 a.m. The boys final is on Thursday November 7th at 10.45 a.m. Special thanks to all our team coaches.

               Board of Management: All families have received notice of a meeting to elect Parent Nominees to the incoming Board of Management. The meeting will take place in the school on Tuesday November 5th at 8 p.m. The term of the current Board ends on November 30th.

            Fifth Class children have completed a six-week programme with John and Kieran from Cycling Safety School. It was very worthwhile.

            Fourth class begin a six-week swimming module on Monday November 4th in Askeaton Leisure Centre.  Third Class will have swimming lessons after Christmas.

School closes tomorrow for midterm at the usual time and reopens on Monday November 4th.

Time to declutter? Community Clothing Recycle event on Friday  November 8th. Drop off time at 8.45 am at Ballybrown National School. All clean clothing and paired shoes, suitable for re-use welcome. Please no duvets & pillow cases. All monies raised from the event goes towards school activities and resources.
