School note November 28th

28-11-2019

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Today, the children in Fifth class headed off to the Lime Tree Theatre to attend a performance of  'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'. Their classmates Ella May Murphy and William Shields have leading roles in this musical.

Yesterday, the Ballybrown team that won the 2019 County Minor Premier hurling title returned to the school, bringing the County Trophy with them. It was great to see so many former pupils continuing to make an impact on the hurling field.

On Monday, international athlete, Lilly Ann O' Hora who works for Athletics Ireland, visited this school to present medals to the six Ballybrown NS teams that were prizewinners in the Limerick Primary Schools Cross Country Championships. Lilly-Ann stressed the importance of a healthy lifestyle and encouraged children to join athletics clubs in the area. Tomorrow, Limerick intercounty footballer Peter Nash will visit school to present medals to the boys and girls under 13 girls footballers.

Redemptorist Christmas Hamper Appeal: There is a box in the foyer if you wish to donate non-perishable food. It will be collected on Thursday December 12th.

Reminder: School will be closed on Wednesday December 11th as all teachers will attend Inservice Training in the Primary Language Curriculum.

Website: All information relating to the school, school calendar, booklists, etc  is on the website www.ballybrownns.ie . Check in on  Twitter @BallybrownNS to keep yourself informed on school news.

Gach dea-ghuí,
