Halloween festivities

School closes for midterm on Friday October 23rd. It is customary  for children to dress up in Halloween costumes on that day.  We will continue that tradition this year. We encourage home made costumes with a Halloween theme. I know some families have already acquired costumes for this much-anticipated event and they are perfectly acceptable .   Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold the Halloween Disco/party in the Halla this year. Weather permitting, it is hoped that classes will take part in an outdoor parade while we encourage other activities such as Halloween art, poems and learning about Oíche Shamhna.  Ms Keyes, our Green Schools coordinator, has secured prizes from  EcoStraws.i.e.  for the best costumes made from recycled material. Keep an eye on our Twitter page for highlights of what promises to be a great day in these strange times.
