School note March 22nd. 2012

22-3-2012.

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Yesterday was Energy Saving Day. The Green Schools Committee was busy monitoring energy usage and trying to ensure lights were switched off unless strictly necessary. Thanks to Mrs Hodgins, Green Schools Co-ordinator, and to Mary Conway who made the eye-catching signs visible throughout the school.

Third Class staged three performances of the play 'I Didn't Think' in the school today -two for pupils and a performance in the afternoon for their parents. The verdict?  A resounding success. I wish them success in the Drama competition in Limerick city next week. Thanks to Ms Day and Anna Henn who have put huge effort into all the details that combine to make a show so successful. Thanks to Mary Conway, programme editor. Thanks also to Mike McGregor and Barney O Brien who assisted with transport of props at short notice and to Barry Munnelly and Frank Coughlan who helped to assemble our newly-acquired stage.

Confirmation is only five weeks away. Fifth and Sixth Class pupils will be on Retreat tomorrow as part of their preparation.

The next Recycling day is Friday 30th of March.  Clothes, shoes, mobile phones will be accepted. Bags will be issued to each family today. All items to be delivered by 9.30 a.m. please.

Gach dea ghuí
