School Note May 23rd 2012

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Last Saturday, the boys and girls of Second Class made their First Holy Communion. The day was a great success. All the hard work by Mrs Dillon and the children was in evidence. The Art Display put together by Anna Henn was much admired. Thanks also to Monsignor Lane who filled in for Fr. O Connor, to Mrs Mulroe who assisted on the day and to all involved in the local community who helped out. Thanks also to the ladies of the Parents Association who provided tea and coffee for families afterwards.

All classes go on School Tour tomorrow. Please ensure your child is at school in time. Tour details are on

All children are asked to stay in the schoolyard as on a normal school morning until their teacher brings them to the bus. No spending money needed. No mobile phones allowed. If there is any delay on the return journey, the school will text parents. I am sure everybody will have a great day. All teachers will be accompanying classes so school will not be open to receive pupils.

Well done to all the children who represented the school at the Limerick City Sports in UL yesterday. As usual, their behaviour was impeccable. The performances on the track were excellent. The school won Best Boys School in our category and achieved Third Place in the Girls School Category. Congratulations all round. Thanks also to Mr Lordan and Mr Hennessy, team managers and to the parents who turned up to support.

Congratulations to Orla Curtin, Rang A Sé, who has been chosen to play for Limerick in the Primary Game camogie v Tipperary in Semple Stadium on Sunday. This is a great honour for the school Best wishes to our Under 13 hurling and camogie teams who will play in the City Cumann na mBunscol semi-finals on Friday in St. Patrick’s GAA field.

The school will be in use as a Polling Station for the referendum on Thursday May 31st. No school for pupils on that day. The school sports Fun Day will be held on the following day Friday June 1st.,weather permitting. School will end for all pupils at 2 p.m. on that day.

Gach dea-ghui
