School note March 13th 2014

13-3-2014.
Dear parents,
                    This is Seachtain na Gaeilge. Activities as gaeilge have been going on throughout the school. Rang a Trí agus rang a Ceathar   took part in Quiz Boird on Tuesday while Rang a Cúig agus Rang a Sé will get their turn later in the week.. Several classes have been brushing up on Céilí Dancing while the two Sixth class groups have also availed of hip-hop classes with some Mary Immaculate College students who are specialising in Dance as part of their Elective  Option in Physical Education.
                Green School: The Green School committee is carrying out a survey on Water Usage. It is on the Thursday note. Parents who receive the note by e mail will receive a hard copy f the survey. Please fill in and return to the school.
                71 children from Fifth and Sixth Classes will make their Confirmation on Thursday April 3rd at 1 p.m. This is an exceptionally large number of children. Space in the church will be at a premium. Parents are strongly advised to come to the ceremony in good time. The Resource Centre will be available. A video link will be set up to enable anybody who wishes to see the ceremony to do so. Communion will be available in the Resource Centre also.
                Hurling helmets, in green and white, with 'Ballybrown NS' stamped on them may be ordered from the school at a subsidised rate of €50 each.    They come in three sizes. Small, Medium and Large.  Please contact the school as soon as possible.
                    Scouts & Cubs: An information meeting for parents of boys and girls aged 9-10  who are interested in joining the Cubs or Scouts will take place on Tuesday March 18th at 9 p.m. in the Resource Centre.
                  Parents Association: Colours Day tomorrow Friday 14th March.  Suggested contribution € 2 per child. All proceeds to the Parents Association.
Confirmation - The Parents Association are looking for volunteers  to help with teas and coffees on the day of the Confirmation, Thurs 3rd April.  We need 4 people to help set up from 11am to 12 noon and around 10 volunteers from 2pm till 4 pm.  Please contact Claire Shields on 085 7846 255 if you are free that day
The Great Limerick Run is having a Kids Run, on Saturday the 3rd May.  This takes place in UL, and there is a limit of 500 children for each wave.  The school will receive €5  of the entry fee for each child.  More details can be found on the website.  http://www.greatlimerickrun.com/about/kids
