School note February 12th.

Dear parents,

                     I wish to bring the following to your attention.

It has come to my attention that a number of pupils are being dropped at school long before starting time. Please remember children are not supervised before 9 a.m. Teachers in school before 9 a.m. are preparing work for the day ahead and cannot be responsible for children in the playground.

                   Midterm: Parents are reminded that school will be closed on Thursday and Friday February 19th and 20th.

                    First Holy Communion: A meeting for parents of children in the First Holy Communion Class will take place in the Resource Centre on Monday February 16th at 8.30 p.m.

                   Wassa Wassa African Drumming Company has cancelled the workshop scheduled for today and tomorrow. It is hoped to re-schedule for a later date. Any monies paid have been returned.

                Green School: A Fancy Dress on the theme of water will take place on Wednesday February 18th. Prizes for the best entry made from recycled material in each class.

                  Swimming: Third class yesterday completed a six week programme of swimming lessons at Askeaton Leisure Centre. Well done to all who took part. A special word of thanks to Mrs. Therese Kiely who accompanied the class each week along with Mr. Hodnett.

                Community Games - Our talent competition will take place this coming Sunday 15th February in Ballybrown GAA club starting at 5pm. Children can take part in Singing, Recitation, Music,Dance, Drama/Comedy. Age categories from U11 to U16. Check out our Facebook page for full details. All welcome.                  

              Dyspraxia Ireland Limerick Support Group:   This is a newly formed voluntary association, which aims to provide useful information, practical support and advice to parents of children with Developmental Co-ordination Disorder & Dyspraxia. We are meeting  on Tuesday, 17thFebruary 2015 at 7.30 - 9.00pm in Christ Church, Central Buildings, O Connell St near The White House pub. Special guest speaker will be Aisling Kelliher of The Sunflower Clinic who specialise providing Occupational Therapy solutions to children using Sensory Integration as a specific framework with a primary focus on Sensory Processing Disorders, Dyspraxia and DCD.

           Important visitor: Aidan O Mahony, full back on the Kerry football team, will bring Sam Maguire to Ballybrown NS on Monday next at 11.15 a.m.
