School note March 12th

12-3-2020

Dear Parents,

This morning the government has announced a series of measures aimed at addressing the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Ireland. Effective from 6 p.m. this evening, until 29 March, all primary schools in Ireland will be closed. Following this announcement, the teachers met in class groupings and have prepared work for children for the duration of the closure. This work will be posted on the school website www.ballybrownns.ie.

If your child was absent today, books and copies may be collected from school between 10 and 11 a.m. tomorrow.

The online educational resource Twinkl is offering a free trial to the public to help keep children occupied. Log on https://www.twinkl.ie/resources/roi-resources/

(2nd Class Parents) - 'Do This in Memory' Mass  this Saturday evening,  March 14th, has been cancelled.

Green Schools: As part of the Green Schools initiative on Travel, over 50 children from First to Sixth Class took part in Scoot on Wednesday when they met at the New Field in Clarina and travelled to school by scooter. Thanks to Ms Keyes, Green Schools Coordinator, who organised this and to the many teachers who came early to school to act as stewards along the route.

Covid 19: Tusla, the Child and Family agency,  urge parents to keep up to date on the latest information from the Department of Health and the HSE and make informed decisions related to their child on that basis. Up to date information may be accessed at www.education.ie/covid19.
