School Note March 16th

16-3-2017.

Dear parents,

Seachtain na Gaeilge: This is Seachtain na  Gaeilge. There are many activities taking place in the school. Parents can do your bit by  introducing simple phrases like 'Go raibh maith agat', 'Dia Dhuit' 'Slán abhaile'  and 'Fáilte romhat' to everyday speech. Tá 'Lá Glas' ar siúl sa scoil inniu.

On Tuesday next March 21st, the school will be a hive of activity as we will host Lego workshops for children in Junior and Senior Infant classes as well as workshops in Robotics for children in First and Second classes.  Cost €2 per child. Thanks to the Parents Association for subsidising these very worthwhile events.

Last Friday, the children in Junior and Senior infants enjoyed a live performance by Corvenio's Circus. It was a great experience for them all.

Last Friday night, Ballybrown NS was  runner -up in the Best Large School category at the Cornmarket Cumann na mBunscol Awards in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. The winners were Drimnagh Castle CBS from Dublin. This nationwide award recognises schools for their promotion of Gaelic Games for boys and girls. It was a great achievement to be shortlisted for the award and recognises the commitment of the teachers who give so generously of their time.

Hurling helmets, in green and white with Ballybrown NS Crest, may be ordered from the school. Price is a very competitive €50 each. Please pay money to school Office. Closing date has been extended to next Monday March 20th.
