School Note April 27th

Dear parents,

                     We have reached the final term of the school year. It promises to be a very busy time.

                     School Tours: All classes will go on school tour on Thursday June 22nd. All teachers will be on tour that day. In order to give parents time to plan ahead, it is school policy to give parents as much advance notice as possible.

 

Junior & Senior Infants: Stonehall Farm, Price €16.00

1st & 2nd Class: Crag Caves/Crazy Cave Attractions, Price €22.00

3rd & 4th Class: Tralee Wetlands Centre/Aqua Dome, Price €32.00

5th & 6th Class: Nevsail, Kilkee, Price €50.00

It would be appreciated if tour monies could be submitted by Wednesday May 31st. Each pupil pays tour money to his/her own class teacher.

Graduation:  Sixth Class Graduation is on Tuesday June 27th at 1.30 p.m. in the school.

Limerick City Sports are on Wednesday May 17th in UL.

Our school Sports Fun Day will take place on  Friday June 23rd.

On Tuesday, the school under 13 hurling team defeated St Nessan's in the first game of the 2017 Olo Cup.  Yesterday, the under 13 camogie team pipped our neighbours Patrickswell NSin the City Cumann na mBunscol league. Tomorrow, the camogie team play Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoighe in Monaleen GAA grounds.

Tomorrow, hurling coach Killian Gavin will take Mr Sheehy's class for a  skills session.

Yesterday, the school played in the second round of the FAI /Spar  5-a-side soccer blitz in Corbally, winning two games and losing a third by 3-2. Special thanks to team coaches Kevin Conway and Colum McGrath.

Tomorrow, Engineer Scott Ziglinski will visit the school as part of our commitment to STEM subjects. He will work with classes from 3rd to 6th inclusive.

Parking: Please use the Resource Centre car park or the Church car park. Parents should not use the staff parking area or the bus area.

Uniforms: As the weather improves, children are likely to take of fleeces and jumpers when they are in the playground. Please ensure your child's name is on all items of clothing.

Medication:  If your child needs to use an inhaler, or take any medicine,  at school, please inform the school of this. Written instructions are required.

Finally, I would like to welcome Mr Fergal Keoghan  to the staff. He replaces Mrs Hanly who is on Maternity Leave for the remainder of this school year.
