School Note May 11th

Dear parents,

It has been another busy week here in Ballybrown NS. Preparations are almost complete for First Holy Communion which takes place on Saturday in Ballybrown Church at 11 a.m..  The Art work on display is a credit to all the boys and girls who have worked so hard for this special day. Thanks to all teachers and staff for their efforts and to Fr Cussen who takes a great interest in the school.

On Wednesday, May 17th, 50 children from Ballybrown NS will take part in Limerick City Sports in UL.

The school's Under 13 hurling and camogie teams have qualified for the semi finals of the Limerick City Cumann na mBunscol leagues.  The hurling semi final is fixed for Thursday at 10:00 am.  The camogie semi final will take place on Friday 19th at 12 noon. Both games in Monaleen GAA club.  Yesterday, the school was victorious in the Hurling blitz run by Salesian Secondary School in Pallaskenry, defeating Shauntrade NS in the final. Today, a team consisting of Barry Adams, Diarmuid Collins and Michael Gavin won the City Hurling Skills Competition held in Mungret GAA club.

All classes will be on school tour on Thursday June 22nd. All details are on the school website www.ballybrownns.ie.  It would be appreciated if tour monies could be submitted by Wednesday May 31st. Each pupil pays tour money to his/her own class teacher.

Please check the school website www.ballybrownns.ie or follow us on Twitter @BallybrownNS to keep yourself informed on school news.

Colours Day with a difference

To honour the memory of our friend and fellow parent, Margaret Fitzgerald, RIP, and in support of the wonderful work done by Milford Hospice, the Parents Association would like all pupils (& staff) to wear something purple, ie socks, a hair clip, T  shirt etc on Friday, May 19th for Colours Day. A suggested donation of €2 would be most welcome. All monies raised will be divided equally between the Parents Association and Milford Hospice.
