I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Please ensure that you inform the school of the reason for any absences. Notes were provided for this purpose at the beginning of the school year. The school has a statutory obligation to make a report to Tusla in the case of every child who is absent for 20 days or more in any school year. It is vital that you furnish the school with a reason for any absences.

School note November 7th

7-11-2019

Dear parents,

I wish to bring the following to your attention.

Internet Safety is a topic greatly in the news. Many children speak in school of playing the online game 'Fortnite'.  The PGEI rating is 12 years old. I advise parents to read about this game by following this link. https://www.webwise.ie/parents/explained-what-is-fortnite/

Reminder: Children are supervised from 9 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. each morning. Parents are requested not to bring children to school prior to 9 a.m. as the school will not be responsible for them. As all children assemble in the same yard, children line up in readiness for school. This is not playtime.

School GAA: Ballybrown NS contested both the boys and girls football finals in the Gaelic Grounds this week. The girls team lost narrowly but performed very well. The boys had better fortune and defeated our neighbours Gaelscoil an Ráithín by 2-2 to 0-2. A special thanks to  the teachers involved in preparing  all our school teams.
